#64 Riki and Melissa

2015 marks 13 years together for us, and in that time, we’ve bought our first house, attempted some renovations, done some travelling, and raised our furbabies too of course!

We have had our fair share of both domestic bliss & rough patches, and still love each other as much as the day we got together. We even have a soppy engagement story involving a failed treasure hunt for a ring, and a proposal over the phone whilst in different states.

We are pretty much just the same as any other couple. The main difference being, we are often considered as second-class citizens and our relationship not ‘legitimate’ or ‘right’ because we’re a same sex couple.
