#70 Jess, Susan, Shandell, Victoria, and Nicola- The Handmade Hussys

Handmade Hussys is a group of lesbians who meet monthly to drink coffee and craft in Brisbane. Some work with wire, some pen, some with wool. Some of us want to get married while others don’t think marriage is right for them.

We do all agree that the inequity in laws relating to marriage for LGBTIQ people in Australia is a symptom of the homophobia and transphobia.

Prejudice and homophobia has touched every hussy in our group and just a glance at the homelessness, mental health and suicide statistics in the queer community shows we are not alone.

We think equal rights are worth fighting for.
