#96 Holley, Alana and Esha

To declare other’s love as wrong is to not really understand love at all’– Unknown

This year will be the fifth anniversary of our wedding ceremony in the Adelaide Hills. Even though we knew it would not be a ‘legal’ marriage, we felt a strong desire to express our love and commitment to each other in front of our closest family and friends. It was a beautiful day, and we look forward to the day that our political leaders catch up to the rest of us and recognise that love is love.

We look forward to the day when people don’t feel a need to say, “I thought you couldn’t get married here?” when we introduce/refer to each other as ‘my wife’.

Most importantly though, we look forward to our daughter growing up in a country where she knows from a young age that her family is respected and protected by the same laws as every other family in this country…that we are all equal, and that is just how it should be.
