#59 Meg, Prudence and Myla

We have been together for more than 7 years and have been engaged for 4 years now. We became a family 3 years ago when Prudence gave birth to a gorgeous and funny daughter named Myla who is almost 3. Our family is about to become complete with Meg being pregnant with our second child. We never knew having a child could bring so much happiness, laughter, and love in our lives.

Our family is pretty ordinary and yet we could be seen as unusual to outsiders due to the fact that we are both deaf and use Auslan as our primary language. Even our dog and known donor are deaf. Myla doesn’t see any difference and often claims that she is deaf too! She is bilingual and can switch between English and Auslan depending on who she is interacting with.

We are not in a hurry to get married, but every person – gay or not should have this human right to marry the one they love at a time that suits them in their own home country in front of family and friends.
